Communicate with the Virtual Patient

To communicate with your virtual patient in a Body Interact simulation, use the Dialogues Menu. This menu provides a range of pre-defined questions, allowing you to engage with the patient and gather vital information for clinical decision-making.

In certain scenarios, you may also have the option to communicate with the patient’s family, caregiver, chaperone, or another healthcare professional. This supports a more holistic approach to patient care.

The Dialogues Menu typically includes options for:

  • Greeting and Introduction: Introduce yourself to the patient and confirm their details, helping maintain a patient safety culture.
  • History Taking: Ask about the chief complaint, history of present illness, past medical history, medications, allergies, family history, and social history.
  • Education: Provide health information, instructions, and skill development, tailored to the scenario’s goals.

While the questions are pre-defined by the scenario author, the patient’s answers may vary depending on their evolving condition. For example, if a patient is initially in pain and you administer pain medication, they may later report feeling better.
