Understand Clinical Scenario Features

Each clinical scenario in Body Interact contains specific features designed to support learning outcomes and ensure realistic simulation experiences. These features can influence how the scenario unfolds and how the learner interacts with the virtual patient.

The Scenario Details page for each scenario indicates which of these features are active or available. You can view both scenario and session-specific features by scrolling down the page.

Scenario Features

These features are active by default within the clinical scenario and define its core structure or content:

  • Medication class only (no dosing/route): Users choose the appropriate class of medication without selecting a specific dose or administration route.
  • Medication dose and route: Users must select both the correct medication and its dosage and route of administration.
  • Pharmacologic prescription dosage and route: Users are expected to prescribe medications with correct dosages and routes as part of their clinical decision-making.
  • Tomography/CT room available: The scenario includes access to a Tomography/CT room to perform imaging tests.
  • In-simulation formative questions: Questions appear during the simulation based on user actions. These are educational and do not impact the Global Score.

Session-Specific Features

These features are only activated when the scenario is included in a session, and their availability depends on the educator’s setup:

  • OSCE scenario: Designed specifically for use in OSCEs (Objective Structured Clinical Examinations).
  • Multiplayer: Allows up to three additional users to participate in the same scenario, either locally or remotely.
  • Post-simulation formative question (open-text): An open-ended question appears after the simulation for reflection. Educators can find it in the Quick Solution Guide.
  • Post-simulation summative question (open-text): A summative open-text question appears after completion. This is also listed in the Quick Solution Guide.

These features are valuable tools to align simulations with your learning goals and teaching strategies.
