Ventilate a Patient

When a patient’s airway is compromised or they are in respiratory failure, it is crucial to provide the necessary ventilation support quickly. In Body Interact, you can provide ventilation through either Mechanical Ventilation or Manual Ventilation.

Mechanical Ventilation

To provide mechanical ventilation, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Interventions Menu.
  2. Select Ventilation – Mechanical.
  3. Choose the appropriate ventilation method:
    • Inspiratory Pause
    • Invasive Ventilation (Orotracheal Tube)
    • Non-invasive Ventilation (BiPAP or CPAP)
  4. Set the mode.

Click the pink plus button next to the mask to replace the ventilation circuits, change the volume mode, or perform an inspiratory pause to assess the plateau pressure (Pplat) if necessary.
