In Body Interact, auscultation is a component of the Physical Examination and is accessed through different paths depending on the simulation environment. Here’s where you can find each type of auscultation:
Auscultate the Patient
Pulmonary Auscultation
Emergency Room Environment:
- Front Auscultation: Go to Physical Exam > Breathing > Pulmonary Auscultation.
- Back Auscultation: First, adjust the Patient Position to Sitting on the Bed (Back), then go to Physical Exam > Breathing > Pulmonary Auscultation.
Consultation Environment:
- Front Auscultation: Go to Physical Exam > Respiratory > Pulmonary Auscultation.
- Back Auscultation: First, adjust the Patient Position to Sitting on the Stool (Back), then go to Physical Exam > Respiratory > Pulmonary Auscultation.
Heart Auscultation
- Other Environments (e.g., Emergency Room): Go to Physical Exam > Circulation > Cardiac Auscultation.
- Consultation Environment: Before auscultating, position the patient to sit or lie down. Then, go to Physical Exam > Cardiovascular > Cardiac Examination > Cardiac Auscultation.
Abdominal Auscultation
- Go to Physical Exam > Exposure > Abdominal Auscultation.
Ensure you listen carefully to the sounds during auscultation, as they provide essential information about the patient’s condition.
